China is the world’s largest energy producer and consumer. The nation’s go-to energy source is coal, as China mines and processes more than 3 billion metric tons of coal annually to fuel its expanding economy. But the coal sector is also the nation’s second-largest industrial consumer of water, so a finite water supply will likely limit the coal industry’s growth.http://www.circleofblue.org/waternews/2013/world/infographic-china-energy-production-data/
