TEPCO TELECONFERENCES' RECORDS

TEPCO TELECONFERENCES' RECORDS

Tokyo Electric Power Co. has disclosed about 150 hours of video records of the company's teleconferences from the evening of March 11 to March 16 last year, at the outset of the nuclear crisis. The teleconferences linked TEPCO's Tokyo head office, the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant and other locations.
Based on the records, The Yomiuri Shimbun has re-created five controversial scenes that have been the focus of efforts to determine the causes of the crisis.
The job titles of the people in the text are the titles they held at the time. Screen grabs from the video footage were provided by TEPCO. Quotations are all from the TEPCO video records unless otherwise specified.
