China to Build Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline
Beijing has agreed to build (WSJ) a natural gas pipeline from Iran to Pakistan, according to Pakistani officials. The United States had previously threatened to impose sanctions on Pakistan if Islamabad moved ahead with the project. Separately, a Chinese state-owned power company plans to invest (Dawn) in a $2.1 billion coal-fired power project in Pakistan.
