NRC Chairman is bending rules in Yucca Mountain proceeding

Attempts to kill Yucca Mountain have become "downright brazen"
The tactics used by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to force a shutdown of the Yucca Mountain nuclear-waste-repository project "have gone beyond suspicious to downright brazen," according to The Seattle Times. Chairman Gregory Jaczko's directive to stop a project evaluation contradicts a ruling of the NRC's own licensing board, ignores ongoing litigation in federal court and makes light of the opinion of more than 90 members of Congress, the newspaper adds.
